Summary:
The IT Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support and maintenance for all IT systems and equipment within the shopping mall. This includes hardware and software troubleshooting, network administration, security systems, and ensuring smooth operations of all technology-related aspects of the mall.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide first-line technical support mall staff.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues with computers, peripherals
- (printers, scanners, etc.), POS systems, and other electronic devices.
- Diagnose and repair network connectivity problems (Wi-Fi, LAN).
- Assist with the installation and configuration of new computer systems and software.
- Provide remote support when necessary.
Network Administration:
- Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
- Maintain network security through firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Implement and maintain network policies and procedures.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
Security Systems:
- Accesses with keycards, RFID, parking, etc.
- Respond to security alerts and assist with security investigations.
Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform preventative maintenance on all IT equipment.
- Plan and implement upgrades to IT infrastructure as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant IT standards and regulations.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all IT systems and procedures.
- Create and maintain incident reports and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an IT support role. Experience in a retail or hospitality environment is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Experience with networking technologies (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
- Knowledge of security systems (CCTV, access control).
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and other operating systems.
- Familiarity with various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
