Brief information about the project
The Overall Objective of the “EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empoweremnt” project is to contribute to increasing the influence young people in the Eastern Partnership region in determining policy outcomes. The Specific Objectives are to increase the capacity of youth organizations and public institutions to jointly implement more participatory and structured policy dialogue in the context of the EaP architecture as well as at national and sub-national levels, and to improve the quality and outreach of youth work for mobilizing and engaging more young people from remote / less advantaged and conflict-affected areas in the EaP region.
The project is regional and implemented in the EaP region; however, the intern will be based in Tbilisi and will primarily support the implementation of EU4Youth in Georgia.
EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ (EU4Y) is co-funded by the European Union and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of the BMZ project ‘Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership’.
The main tasks of the national intern are the following:
Ad-hoc organizational and administrative support of EU4Youth (potentially touching upon all aspects of all the activities being implemented by EU4Youth) – example tasks are given below:
Required qualifications, competences, and experience.
Working hours:The intern will work part-time at 75% of a full-time schedule, amounting to 30 hours per week. The specific working days will be determined in consultation with the project team.

- Supporting EU4Youth team in daily tasks – both administrative and technical.
- Assist in managing both face-to-face and virtual events, site visits, and regional exchanges, supporting all stages from planning to evaluation: including invitations, technical equipment setup, participant lists, agendas, presentations, registration, participant support, and event documentation.
- Provide support in the procurement of goods and services, ensuring that all documentation aligns with GIZ procedures.
- Contribute to the development of PR and promotional materials, including creating social media posts for the external communication of events.
- Support various Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tasks, including data collection.
Required qualifications, competences, and experience.
- Last-year Bachelor's student or recent graduate in social sciences, international relations, political science, economics, management, or a related field.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and open-minded, with a strong interest in working for an international development organization and in the Eastern Partnership region.
- Experience in volunteering or working with youth NGOs and civil society organizations.
- Experience of participating in youth-focused initiatives, such as conferences, capacity-building programs, camps, and exchange programs.
- Passionate about youth development, with strong teamwork abilities, adaptability to new topics, and the capacity to work independently.
- Strong time management skills, a high sense of responsibility, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Good working knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and OneNote.),
- Georgian on a native level (C2 according to CEFR), fluent written and oral knowledge of English (B2). German language skills are an asset.
- Awareness of and sensibility for gender-related differences; comfortable working in an inclusive environment (e.g. necessitating taking a gender sensitive approach to working with colleagues).
