What Will You Be Responsible For:
As the Head of Legal, you will oversee all legal affairs for Petra Group, ensuring that our operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements while protecting the company’s interests. You will collaborate closely with the executive team and other departments, offering legal counsel on a wide range of matters. Your leadership will help ensure that legal risks are managed effectively, and that Petra Group maintains its commitment to compliance, ethics, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Strategy & Leadership: Lead the legal department and establish a legal strategy aligned with Petra Group’s long-term goals. Provide legal direction to the senior management team and advise on strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, business development, and partnerships.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure that Petra Group adheres to all local and international laws and regulations affecting the development sector. Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, and monitor and update internal policies in line with legislative changes.
  • Contract Management & Negotiations: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts and agreements, ensuring they are legally sound, compliant, and in the company’s best interest. Lead negotiations with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess legal risks related to business operations and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risks. Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s assets and reputation.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage any potential disputes, litigation, or legal proceedings, acting as the company’s primary legal point of contact. Represent the company in legal proceedings, manage external legal counsel, and handle any claims or legal disputes effectively.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure that Petra Group operates with the highest standards of corporate governance. Guide the Board of Directors and executive leadership team on legal issues related to governance, shareholder relations, and other corporate matters.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to perform at the highest level.
  • Legal Advice & Policy Development: Advise on corporate structuring, real estate development projects, construction contracts, joint ventures, and partnerships. Review and propose new internal policies and procedures to strengthen legal and ethical standards within the company.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. A strong collaborator with the ability to work cross-functionally within a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skilled negotiator, able to influence outcomes and manage difficult negotiations with a balanced approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing legal documents and identifying risks, ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant laws and standards.

Qualifications & Hard Skills:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree in Law is a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior legal role within the development sector (real estate, construction, infrastructure, or related industries).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing legal teams and leading corporate legal functions.
  • Extensive experience in contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with legal risk management and dispute resolution.
Language Proficiency:
  • Fluent in Georgian, English, and Russian (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication within the company and with external partners.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of relevant local, regional, and international laws and regulations governing the development sector.
