Role: Compensation & Payroll Specialist

What you will do:
Payroll Processing:

• Accurately process employee salaries, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
• Manage payroll deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, etc.).
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursement via direct deposit or checks.
• Verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.

 
Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
• File payroll tax returns and remittances on time.
• Conduct payroll audits to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and finance teams.

 
Compensation & Benefits Administration:

• Enroll new employees in benefit programs and update existing coverage.
• Track and calculate employee benefit contributions.
• Conduct market research to analyze salary trends and ensure competitive compensation.
• Assist in developing salary structures and pay adjustments.
• Employee Support & Vendor Coordination:
• Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve employee concerns.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams on payroll, benefits, and compliance matters.
• Manage relationships with payroll service providers and benefits vendors.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and compensation analysis.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance.
• Understanding of compensation structures and market salary analysis.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
