POSITION PROFILE

We are looking for an experienced architect to join our senior management team on a design manager position. We will be glad to meet with the person who is result oriented, with superior technical knowledge coupled with excellent management, communication and organizational skills.

Ideal candidate should be an architect with practical experience in architectural and structural design (preferably on a senior or management level) and good software toolset skills; have in-depth understanding  of existing construction, architecture and urban planning regulations and requirements in Georgia as well as practical experience of work with authorities; should show a good understanding of ongoing trends, best practices and ideally have education / work experience at the international level.

Qualification and hard skills required:

• Bachelors’ degree or higher in Architecture
• Min 5-year related work experience
• Management skills
• Commercial awareness
• Client management skills
• Teamworking, relationship-building and influencing skills
• High level of oral and written communication skills in Georgian and English. Knowledge of Russian could be considered as advantage
• Technical skills and the ability to use design and project management software. Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, Photoshop and Microsoft Office programs

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

• Accurately interpreting the project vision and strategy, translating this into all project design we deliver. Acting as a Brand Guardian to ensure what we deliver is considered and aligned to the broader strategy
• Being the leading architectural voice at the company
• Managing architectural team and supervising the full design process from start to finish
• Guiding design process for the clients’ and residents’ architectural projects
• Communicating design with different internal and external stakeholders
• Monitoring that the overall design vision is reflected at every level
• Having input into the tendering process

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Managing design for projects at the urban planning, urban design and architectural level
• Managing processes relating to design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule and budget, working very closely with quantity surveyors, site managers and other key members of the team
• Selecting or having input into the selection of specialist subcontractors or other organizations that will help complete the project work
• Advising on the selection of materials used and other aspects of procurement
• Reviewing and advising on designs, ensuring they meet regulatory and legislative requirements
• Defining design brief, scope of work, design time schedule for different projects
• Monitor deliverables, deadlines and time schedules for internal and outsourced projects
• Organize and manage meetings with different stakeholders, suppliers, clients and agencies for design matters, writing reports and giving presentations
• Coordinating the design process for the projects of our clients and residents. Guiding, evaluating and approving the design through the internal design policies. Ensuring compatibility of each project with the overall concept.
• Monitoring compliance of all the ongoing projects with approved initial design
• Liaise with Municipality concerning various topics including but not limited to construction permits, master plan changes, etc. 
• Create conceptual designs and solutions of various elements of the project
• Supervise and manage the work of architectural team
• Attend weekly progress meetings with the key managers
• Administer and maintain monthly reporting to the board of directors
• Keeping up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation
