Job Purpose:
The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for creating and implementing an integrated marketing and communications strategy that supports the organization’s objectives and enhances its brand reputation. This role will oversee both internal and external communication efforts, ensure cohesive messaging, and drive customer engagement and acquisition through innovative marketing campaigns. The position involves managing a cross-functional team and collaborating with other departments to elevate the company’s profile, increase visibility, and promote a positive public image.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development & Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the organization’s marketing and communication strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the creation of long-term marketing plans and campaigns to build brand awareness, generate leads, and drive customer loyalty.
- Set clear goals and KPIs for marketing and communications efforts and monitor performance to optimize results.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on marketing, branding, and communication matters.
Branding:
- Define and protect the company’s brand identity and ensure it is consistently reflected across all communications channels.
- Lead the creation of high-quality content, including digital media, press releases, social media posts, newsletters, website copy, and more.
- Ensure messaging aligns with target audiences, and monitor brand perception to address opportunities and challenges.
Marketing Campaigns & Digital Strategy:
- Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns (online and offline) that promote products, services, and corporate initiatives.
- Oversee digital marketing efforts including SEO, SEM, email marketing, content marketing, and social media strategy.
- Use data-driven insights to measure campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and ROI.
Public & Media Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, media kits, and public statements.
- Manage crisis communication when necessary and protect the organization’s reputation.
Internal Communications:
- Develop internal communications strategies that inform, engage, and motivate employees.
- Oversee the production of company newsletters, announcements, and other internal publications.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations and ROI on marketing activities.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, management, and team-building abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems (CMS).
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Creative, innovative, and adaptable, with a strong understanding of market trends.
- Knowledge of public relations best practices and experience working with the media.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments, including Sales, HR, and Product teams.
